James Edward Wray

Brother of Ben and stepbrother of Joseph, John, and Arthur Whitwam.

Enlisted May 1916.
Died of wounds: 28th October 1916. Aged 38.
Buried at Warlencourt British Cemetery. V11. A. 12.
James had only been in France for a short time when he lost his life. He was a member of Scapegoat Hill Brass Band, as was his brother Ben who was also killed.
His name appears on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church, Golcar.
