Killed in action: 11 August 1916. Aged 31.

Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing. Pier 13A. Face 13B.

Charlie was killed in action at High Wood during the Battle of the Somme and has no known grave. His name appears on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church Golcar.
