Son of Henry&Lavinia of 88 Swallow Lane, Golcar.

 

Brother of Mary and John Henry (who also lost his life) Husband of Helena. Possibly married in1903 (June ¼) Father of Phylis born 1907 and Clara May born 1911.

 

Address 67 Wood Street, Golcar.

 

Occupation: Tuner at Pearson Bros. Victoria Mills, Golcar.

 

Joined up 30th May 1916.

 

Killed on action: 29th September 1917. Aged 39.

 

Commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial. L1X. F.34.

 

Albert's parents received a letter from his commanding officer informing them that he had been killed instantly in an attack. He was sent to France in September 1916, and having been there for 12 months he was due some leave imminently.

 

He was a member of Golcar Cricket and Bowling Club and attended Golcar Baptist Chapel.
