Frank Herbert Walker

Born; 1877 in Golcar

 

Younger son of Samuel and the late Ann.

 

Brother of William Albert, Helena Mary and Hilda Evelyn.

 

Address: Carlton Terrace, Golcar.

 

Occupation: Clerk at C. & J. Hirst, Longwood.

 

Joined up in May 1916.

 

Killed in Action: 12th November 1917, aged 40.

 

Buried at Menin Road South Military Cemetery, Ypres. Plot 3.Row M. Grave 12.

 

Frank had served 12 months at the Front, when his parents received a letter from his Captain to say that he had been killed instantly.

 

He was a member of Golcar Conservative Club, and attended St. John's Church, Golcar where his name appears on the Roll of Honour.
