Son of Ai and Mary Ellen Taylor.

 

Brother of George Lewis, Willie and Harold.

Employed at Joseph Haigh & Son, Longwood.

 

Joined the colours: August 1916.

 

Embarked for France in August 1917.

 

Killed in action 30th November 1917. Aged 20.

 

Commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial to the Missing, Louverval. Panel 12 and 13.

 

Mr and Mrs Taylor received news of the death of their second son from the War Office. He was reported missing, presumed dead, at the Battle of Cambrai.

 

He was actively connected to Milnsbridge Wesleyan Chapel. His name appears on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church, Golcar and Longwood War Memorial.
