Brother of Arthur and Percy.

 

Married Ann Gledhill in 1905.

 

Father of Ida, Lena and one more child.

Occupation: Woollen Spinner at Hirst&Mallinson Ltd. Longwood.

 

Killed in action 27th November 1917. Aged 36.

 

Commorated on the Cambrai Memorial to the Missing.

 

Evelyn was reported missing and presumed dead during the Battle of Cambrai.

 

He name appears on the Memorial which holds the names of over 7,000 men of Great Britain and South Africa who died during the Battle of Cambrai between November and December 1917, whose graves are not known.

 

He is also remembered on the Roll of Honour at St. Mark's Church, Longwood and Scapegoat Hill Baptist Church.
