Killed in action: 10th April 1918. Aged 37.

On the day Job was killed his battalion were involved in heavy fighting at Messines but eventually were unable to hold on. His battalion suffered many casualties according to the War Diaries, and the loss about 4 officers and 150 men.
Job was reported missing and presumed to have been killed in the action. His wife Alice must have found things difficult for a time, as she was not granted her War Pension until 24th March 1919, when she was awarded £3-3s-9d per week. She received a payment from Lichfield of £13-18s-8d in September 1919 which included a War Gratuity of £7-10s. His name appears on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church, Golcar.
