Roisel is a small town 11km from Personne. The cemetery is an extension is immediately to the north of the Communal Cemetery and was begun by German troops. It was developed in October and November 1918 by the 41st, 48th, 53rd and 58th Casualty Clearing Stations.
In 1911 Edgar was lodging with Ambrose Bullas, his wife Lizzie and their two small children, James William and Hilda May. Edgar and Ambrose were the same age, but unfortunately Ambrose died in 1915 ages 33 and is buried at Linthwaite Church. Edgar married his widow in 1918, just weeks before his own death.
Edgar had served in Salonica for two years. He had only been in France for a few weeks when he was severely wounded in the chest on 18th October. He was taken to the 41st Casualty Clearing Station where he died from his wounds six days later. He listed on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church, Golcar.
