Son of the late Sutcliffe and Ellen.

Brother of Mary, Nanny, Sarah Ellen, Miriam, Sutcliffe and Allen.

Enlisted: 16th August 1916.

Killed in action: Sunday 13th October 1918. Aged 23.

Buried: St. Vaast Communal Cemetery Extension. France. Row C. Grave 4.

Wilfred was educated at Scapegoat Hill Council School and attended Scapegoat Hill Baptist Chapel, where his name appears on the Roll of Honour.

His two brothers, Allen and Sutcliffe were also killed in action the same year.

The cemetery extension at St. Vaast holds 44 casualties.
