Son of Mr. & Mrs. Ben Haigh of 162 Leymoor Rd.

Married in late 1915 to Marion Pashley.

Occupation: Employed by Messrs Calverley & Co., Milnsbridge.

Address: 134, Leymoor Road, Golcar.

Enlisted: May 1916.

Killed in Action: 25th April 1917. Aged 28.

Commemorated on the Arras Memorial to the Missing. Bay 6.

Whitwam was a playing member of Leymoor Cricket Club and attended Scapegoat Hill Baptist Sunday School. He embarked for France in August 1916.

His name appears on the Roll of Honour at Scapegoat Hill Baptist Chapel and St. John's Church, Golcar.
