Died of wounds: 12th April 1918. Aged 19 years.

Sutcliffe was educated at Scapegoat Hill school. He also attended Scapegoat Hill Baptist Chapel and worked for the Sunday school, his name and that of his brothers appears on the Roll of Honour there.
Sutcliffe's two brothers, Allen and Wilfred killed in action within nine days of each other in October 1918.
