Son of the late Sutcliffe and Ellen.
Brother of Mary, Nanny, Sarah Ellen, Miriam, Wilfred and Sutcliffe.

Enlisted: 19th May 1916 in Great Yarmouth.
Embarked for France: 21st June 1917.
Killed in action: Friday 4th October 1918. Aged 31.

Allen was the eldest son of the late Sutcliffe and Ellen. He had been educated at Scapegoat Hill Council School, and attended Scapegoat Hill Baptist Church, where his name appears on the Roll of Honour.
His brother Sutcliffe was killed in April 1918, and Wilfred was killed 9 days after Allen. His sister Nanny returned a confirmation form to say that she had received his metal watch, mirror and prayer book.
Allen's body had previously been buried elsewhere, but it was exhumed and re- interred in this cemetery, where there are 528 casualties.
