Son of John and Sarah.

 

Husband of Sarah, nee Malllinson.

Enlisted 4th March 1916.

 

Died from wounds: 23rd February 1917. Aged 31.

 

Buried at Varennes Military Cemetery. Plot 1. Row 1. Grave 47.

 

Louis was wounded by shrapnel in both thighs during his first experience in the trenches. He died at No 4 Casualty Clearing Station.

 

He attended Golcar Baptist Church and was a member of Golcar Liberal Club. His name appears on the following Rolls of Honour; St. John's Church Golcar, Golcar Baptist Church, Huddersfield Drill Hall and Linthwaite War Memorial.
