Brother of Hannah, Willie, Harry and Mrs. Mary Ann Kemp of 316 Vicarage Rd, Longwood.

 

Married to Agnes Walker in1903.

Embarked for France: January 1917.

 

Killed in action: Saturday 1st June 1918. Aged 38.

Fred was a member of Longwood Conservative Club. He suffered a tragic loss in September 1917 when his wife was accidently burnt to death at their home. She was carrying a lighted taper when she slipped as she descended the bedroom stairs igniting her flannelette nightdress.

 

His name appears on the Roll of Honour in St. John's Church, Golcar.

 

The cemetery is 18 km south west of Arras, and contains 1,605 graves.
